Weekly Feature Theme: Garden Project
Week: April 24th, 2017 to April 28th, 2017

What we are learning?

Dear Parents, We hope you are having a beautiful week. This month our theme is “The Plants”. This coming week we will learn everything about planting a plant and germination. We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Children will explore and discover how to water the plants and enjoy a puppet show. On the 27th, we will start working on our garden project and children will discover every stage of the plant growth. We will be planting some seeds. On Friday we will celebrate the week of the young child! Thank you for letting us play such an important role in your child’s life and we hope you have a great weekend.

Materials for Weekly Activities

 

·         Bring flower seeds for our garden project as well as an outdoor blanket since we will be working outside. We need these for April 27th, 2016.·         Bring some snacks so children can share with their classmate for Friday, April 28th.


 Holidays & Upcoming Events 

·         Week of the Young Child from April 23rd to 29th, 2017. Celebration will take place on April 28th in the main activity classroom.
·         Teacher Appreciation Day from May 1st to May 5th, 2017.·         Mother's Day Celebration on May 12th, 2017

Happy Birthday to Anabella Ruiz and Olivia Gladwell. We wish you the best and hope you have a wonderful birthday!


 Friendly Reminders

 ·         Wash your hands and your child’s hands when entering the classroom and help your child to find his/her seat.
·         Read your child’s journal, blogs and Friday Newsletter. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us in case you have any comment or any question about your child’s development or any notes/comments made in your child’s journal.
·         Avoid bringing your child with items that can cause distraction such as toys, necklaces, bracelets, watches, etc. This is needed to help him/her concentrate in the scheduled activities at school.
·         Label all your child’s clothing and items and make sure that your child has extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather in his/her cubby.
·         Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and just leave one set of clothing and a blanket for nap time.
·         Make sure to take the blanket home on Fridays for laundry and bring it back on Monday.
·         Make sure to have enough pull-ups or diapers in the cubby for the day, if your child has not been potty-trained yet.
·         If your child is bringing a lunch box, please label it with your child’s name and date and place it in the kitchen refrigerator.
·         Label the food that you bring to preschool for your child with your child’s name and the date it was prepared.
·         Do not bring your child to school if the child has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.

Weekly Feature Theme: The trees

Week: April 17th, 2017 to April 21st, 2017


What we are learning?

Dear Parents,
 We hope you are having a beautiful week. This month our theme is “The Plants”. This coming week we will learn everything about the trees.
 We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Children will explore and discover all the parts of a tree, type of trees and the care and reforestation of trees. Children will also notice the bird nests and squirrels in the trees while exploring nature in our backyard. Children will also work in art projects related to trees.
 Thank you for letting us play such an important role in your child’s life and we hope you have a great weekend.

Materials for Weekly Activities

 · Bring a book or magazine about trees that exist in Wake Forest for Thursday, April 20th, 2017.

Weekly Feature Theme: Growth and Function of the Plant

Week: April 10th, 2017 to April 14th, 2017


          What we are learning?

Dear Parents,
 We hope you are having a beautiful week. This month our theme is “The Plants”. This coming week we will learn everything about growth and function of the plant.
We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Children will explore and discover all about function of the plant and the growth stages. They will learn that the plants need water, soil, sun, air and water to grow to beautiful healthy plants. They will also participate in egg hunting for our Easter celebration with our Easter bunnie.
 Thank you for letting us play such an important role in your child’s life and we hope you have a great weekend.

           Materials for Weekly Activities
 

·         Bring Easter eggs as donation for Easter Egg Hunt Celebration. You can drop them with the administration office. This is needed for April 13th, 2017.

·         Bring one empty gallon milk bottle, big movable eyes and a meter of ribbon of 2 inches of your child’s favorite color for Thursday, April 13th, 2017 for an Easter art project.
