What we are learning?

Dear Parents,

 

We hope you are having a beautiful week. This month our theme is “annual review”. This coming week we will review everything we have learnt through the school year, particularly the areas that require improvements.

 

We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills so children can continue learning through experiences. Children will identify and distinguish different types of objects through pictures from magazines and they will classify them and paste them in a paper. They will learn about what they do and their names.

• Bring some pictures from a flat iron, a blender, a refrigerator and a toaster for Monday, June 5th.

• Parent Teacher Conference Week from June 5th to June 9th.

• Father's Day Celebration on June 14th.

• Early Release on June 16th.

• Summer Camp starts on June 19th.

Friendly Reminders

• Wash your hands and your child’s hands when entering the classroom and help your child to find his/her seat.

• Read your child’s journal, blogs and Friday Newsletter. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us in case you have any comment or any question about your child’s development or any notes/comments made in your child’s journal.

• Avoid bringing your child with items that can cause distraction such as toys, necklaces, bracelets, watches, etc. This is needed to help him/her concentrate in the scheduled activities at school.

• Label all your child’s clothing and items and make sure that your child has extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather in his/her cubby.

• Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and just leave one set of clothing and a blanket for nap time.

• Make sure to take the blanket home on Fridays for laundry and bring it back on Monday.

• Make sure to have enough pull-ups or diapers in the cubby for the day, if your child has not been potty-trained yet.

• If your child is bringing a lunch box, please label it with your child’s name and date and place it in the kitchen refrigerator.

• Label the food that you bring to preschool for your child with your child’s name and the date it was prepared.

• Do not bring your child to school if the child has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.

• Apply sunscreen to your child every morning.

• Make sure to keep in your child’s cubby a pair of glasses and a summer hat.

• Sunscreen and mosquito repellant are important to protect your child because he/she is very susceptible to sunburn/mosquito bites. Yet applying sunscreen and mosquito repellent to your child requires planning. If sunscreen and mosquito repellent must be applied to your child, make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when sunscreen and mosquito repellant should be applied and be sure to supply the sunscreen and mosquito repellant, label the bottles with your child's name and place them in a Ziploc bag.
