What we are learning?
Dear Parents,
We hope you all have a wonderful week. This week we will continue learning about our theme called “Means of Communication and Transportation in the City”. This week, children will explore and discover interesting facts about different means of sea transportation such as boats, ships, submarines, canoes, etc.
We have scheduled exciting activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences. Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills.
On Tuesday, children will learn everything about ships and how they work. Children will also create a craft of their favorite sea transport. For art week, they will also discover interesting facts about famous artists.
On Wednesday, children will learn everything about people who work as marines, fishermen and lifeguards. They will explore what they do at work and what materials they use to perform their job. For art week, children will learn about sculptures and they will have fun while creating a craft with clay.
On Thursday, children will learn about safety measures while being at sea. We will talk about precautions, the use of life guard jackets and boats. Children will also explore how objects float and sink in science. For art week, they will discover interesting facts about famous musicians and they will also listen to sounds of different musical instruments.
On Friday, children will identify and share their most favorite subject of the week. They will also play with water and paper boats.
In language and writing, children will learn the vowel Ii. In Math, children will review number 4, purple and the geometric shape “oval”.

Year-Round Activities
Student of the Week & Travelling Pet
Please make sure to sign up your child for these wonderful activities as these 2 are the children favorites! Both activities allow every child to make and share memories with their classmates.
For the student of the week activity, every week a child is given a set week that he/she are the student of the week. On Monday of their week the student of the week should bring a poster and a book created with family pictures, favorite books, sports/hobbies, animals or anything they are interested in. Also, on their week parents and the student of the week may pick a day to present the poster and the book to the class. The student of the week may also bring favorite toys and books to school so they can share with classmates.
As for the Traveling Pet activity, the classroom pet will spend a whole week with the child and family. During that week, parents and the child will have fun together with a new member of the family while providing love and care to the pet. Our pet loves to read at night, go to the park, visit museums, give hugs and kisses! However, the pet does not like taking a bath as he can get sick. Parents and child will enjoy bonding time and making new memories and the child will be very excited to share all the memories with his/her classmates. In their week parents and the child should bring to school a collage of pictures and a brief description of what they did with the pet. Parent should make sure to place the collage inside the travelling pet bag.
Sign up to both activities today! Sign-up sheets are available at the entrance of the classroom.

Star Words of the Week
The ship – El barco
The sea – El mar
The boat – El bote
The yatch – El yate
Song of the Week – A Volar
Poems
#1
Son muchos los medios de locomoción
Los hay terrestres
Como el camión
Otros son acuáticos
Como el gran vapor
Y de los aéreos
El mayor de todos
Es el avión
#2
Quiero un barco de colores
Un avión para volar
Una moto de carreras
Y un gran autocar
Para ir con mis amigos
Por el cielo y por el mar
Y por la tierra redondita
Muchas vueltas dar.
Riddles
#1
Va por el cielo
Como ventarrón
Lleva pasajeros
Y anda a motor
El avión
#2
Tiene motor , Cuatro ruedas
Ventanillas sin cortinas
Un timón negro y también una bocina
El carro
